I listened to the sentiments expressed on the list about taking the MG
for a run on Christmas day and fully intended to do so. The weather here
in So. CA was certainly cooperative and goodness knows the MG needed to
get out and stretch her legs but... I would have had to move both my
Chrysler and my Truck to get her out of the garage and well... I opted to
lay out a route to Anchorage instead.

The computer tells me that Anchorage is 3392 miles from here and requires
72 hours 22 minutes driving time. I used the programs default speeds
which are as follows:

        Limited Access Roads: 60mph
        National Hwys: 46mph
        Primary State/Provincial Rts: 42mph
        State/Provincial Routes: 40mph
        Major connectors: 33mph

For me the route is basically Interstate 5 North to Bellingham WA (North
of Seattle).
SR542 to Deming WA. SR9 to Sumis WA. Canada PH11 to Tans Canada PH1 to
PH97 at Cache Creek. PH97/Trans Canada PH16 to Cassair Hwy PH37 at
Kitwanga and on to Alaska Hwy PH1 at Upper Liard. From there its PH1/PH2
through Takini to Alaska SR2, changing to Alaska SR1 at Tok and on into
Anchorage.

Sound easy doesn't it? My mapping program indicates paved roads all the
way. May or may not be accurate.

Too bad that all British Meet in Edmonton doesn't fit the schedule. But
it is kind of off route anyway.

I haven't consulted state or provincial maps yet to get legal speed
limits on roads in question so driving time will ultimately improve with
current limits set into the program.

I intend to order the Milepost tomorrow.
