Rick,

While reading Parts 1,2 and 3 of your submittal and trying not to
completely break down into fits of laughter, I couldn't help seeing
the one about "You probably own an MG if you know about the hole
into the 4th dimension that swallows 1/2 by 9/16" spanners".

That was MINE from about 15 years ago!! My roommate Larry Colen and
I both had owned MG 1100s/Austin Americas. These cars use a front
subframe that bolts to the unibody and supports the engine/trans
assembly. There is about a 1" gap between the subframe and the
firewall, and if you are unlucky enough to drop any tools into this
gap, they will disappear FOREVER. Inaccessible from the top,
inaccessible from the bottom, unless you hack apart the whole car,
the wrench will be gone. Given this situation, I came up with the
idea that the wrenches were being catapulted into the 4th dimension
through this gap. I postulated that there are parallel worlds with
nothing but piles of combination spanners as far as the eye can see.
So THAT'S where they end up....

Congratulations, Rick, on unearthing a bit of my LBC folklore I had
just about forgotten about. Great list.
