Guess you were out of town last week Steve!!! - there was somewhat of a
dichotomy of opinion and experience with the caps - especially the
adhesive to use.
Personally, I found them to be easy to install, relatively cheap and and
well worth the effort!! - As with all jobs, the preparation is important.
Sand the cap inside and the dash thoroughly, dry fit the piece several
times trimming if necessary. usd a silicon based adhesive - apply a 1/4"
bead about 1/2-3/4" in from the edge of the cap.
Holding it in place requires ingenuity - personally i used rolled rubber
mats wedged between the dash and the screen and a prefab timber rig (3
bits of wood!) to give lateral pressure to the front of the cap wedged
into the back of the cockpit(seats were out at the time)
If not the cap - How would you repair the dash otherwise????
