I think you are indeed both speaking of the same cars. The Bill Thomas
Cheetahs were an American built sports racing car of the late 60's. The car
was a front mid-engine design where the smallblock Chevy that powered it was
nearly dead center in the car, forcing the driver's compartment rearward,
which in turn gave them their distinctive look.
