Transporting cars aross the US (No LBC content)

Whenever I've moved. (And I've done it a few times) I've had my car put on the 
van with the household stuff.  The car was inside, protected from the elements 
and arrived in good shape each time.  And the cost is based on the weight of 
the 
car.  It must have cost under $1K, because the entire move, (lock stock and 
barrel plus storage) cost about $7K.
