One of the advantages of buying parts for my Land Rover over buying parts
for my MG is there is a Land Rover parts supplier that prides themselves
in providing good, cheap parts. I have never received a part from them
that is of lower quality than what was on the car when it was new. Since
Land Rover is still in business, you can buy Genuine parts. They tell you
when you order whether you are getting a Genuine Part, OEM part, or
aftermarket part. Sometimes you have to take the aftermarket part,
because that is all that is available. Other times, they will say, "we
have the Genuine part, but the aftermarket is better and cheaper". Or
they will say, "buy the OEM part, all the aftermarkets are junk, and it is
the exact same part as Genuine with a different box and cost 10% less".
Less occasionally, they say "the OEM part is better but costs $400, the
aftermarket is $100, which do you want?"

Now, I wish our MG suppliers had this attitude. TRF seems to supply OEM
parts a lot more than Moss. Anyway, any part that is common to Land
Rover and MG, I buy from my Land Rover source. This is mostly electrical
parts.
