MGB/MGA manifolds

In a recent thread regarding fitting an exhaust header or other manifold to
an MGA engine, someone quotes Vizard as saying that "A" series engines don't
really need an exhaust manifold improvement.(or words to that effect).......

I believe that someone has the "A" SERIES and MGA engines confused. The MGB
did indeed have a "B" series engine in it but the MGA also had a "B" series
engine in it, didn't it? A typical "A" series installation would be in a
Sprite, Midget or Mini. Now to confuse things further, didn't the MGC have a
"C" series engine?

I think that all these motors would benefit from a tubular steel "Header"
manifold, and have fitted one to each of my MGB and Bugeye. But then again,
I'm not interested in keeping that part of the car "Original."
Cheers,
Tom
