I had the "run-on" problem with my '78 B.  I put a diode in one of the
leads from the alternator (don't recall which one - I think the
yellow/brown).  I think the details were in a "tech manual" put out by the
AMGBA.  If you're interested, I'll try to dig out the info.  Feel free to
