Pertronix electronic ignition: What are the benefits?

I have been follwoing curiously the recent Pertronix thread.
What are excactly the benefits of fitting it?

Will the car start more easily?

My 72 Midget has usually a hard time to get started after not having run
for a week or so. The starter turns fine, I just takes some time to get
the engine to fire. As soon as it does a everything is fine. And hot
starts are no difficulty either.

Would an EI help here?
