Yes - I admit it - I am that man. Since my cover is blown, I'll admit to
three other books - the two Iconografix MG Photo-Archives and my
imminent (i.e. this month) `MG The Untold Story'. US publication of that
book is being done by Motorbooks International. Commercial over. Beyond
that, I might as well mention my next book project, which is about the
MG Record Breakers, especially EX179/181/219.

I have already established quite a network of contacts, including of
course many of the British and American people involved, not to mention
the very helpful people at the local history association in Salt Lake
City UT, but I would also like to track down anyone who was there on the
ground in 1957 or 1959, or who had some involvement. The Internet is a
powerful medium, so who knows, may be it will connect me with someone
with personal recollections? Yours octagonally, David.

I remember picking up copies of British Car when I came over the CA a
few years back, and thinking that it was a good quality read.
Unfortunately it is not generally available over here - magazine
importer distributors concentrate on a few US Hot Rod mags, Car & Driver
and Automobile. My favourite Road & Track is now hard to get without
subscription - depriving me of Peter Egan's `Side Glances'.

David,

I read your post to the MGs list with interest. Are you the David
Knowles of
the MGCC V8 Register and author of 'MG V8: Twenty Years On...' ? The
Damask
Red V8 would certainly seem to make me lean to conclude you are.

I am currently the Assistant Editor of NAMGBRs 'MGB Driver' and will be
taking over the editorship next month when Ken Smith 'retires'. Ken
promises
to continue to be a regular contributor but nonetheless I am always
looking
for more contributors.

The other interesting magazine on this side of the pond is 'British
Car'. Its
published in California and the publisher, Gary Anderson, frequently
contributes to the MG Mail List as well as writer Rick Feibusch. It's
fairly
general in scope but tends to have MG features fairly often.

Hope to hear from you!
