I recently suffered similar electrical problems with the Midget (some
things working at some times, fix one and another goes, then they all
go, etc., etc.). Thanks to some good advice from the list, I solved the
problem. I took out the fuse box, cleaned it up, and filed the
terminals a little to show nice bright metal. When I reinstalled it, I
cut all the old wires back to nice shiny wire and put on all new
connectors. When everything was all hooked up again, it all worked.
Maybe your problem is that simple. If that doesn't solve it, at least
it won't hurt, is cheap to do, and probably would have been needed
eventually anyway.

I'm not familiar with the carb set-up on the MGA, but this is another
problem I recently had. I assume it has SUs, right? Check/replace the
needle valve (or grose jet, if it has those) for the float. Mine seemed
to be moving OK, but wasn't sealing. Take it out and blow through it
(clean the gas off first) while pushing the needle (or ball on grose
jet) up. If it won't seal off the air, you need a new one.

Good luck!

Don't assume that because you have found one problem, you have found the
ONLY problem.
