Well, I finally got around to going down to BAP today, and got the
part number for the rounded rectangular filter for the Weber 32/36
carb.
It's made by EMPI, and the part number is 00-8842-0. I don't
know if this is EMPI's part number or BAP's. BAP's number is
800-633-0639, and the filter is about eight bucks.

Also found a neat trick for the accelerator cable for the Weber
32/36. I had frayed the end of mine that attaches to the throttle
linkage, and the strands are so fine that it was impossible to get
them all through the hole in the linkage. Also, when I tried to
cut the frayed part off, the stands were so fine and springy that
I couldn't get a clean cut without fraying the new end, giving me
the same problem. BAP didn't have a throttle cable on hand for the
MGB, so I bought one for a Volkswagen beetle. The VW cable is made
up of fewer strands, so each strand is thicker and less susceptible
to fraying. The cable was $3.14 after tax, and is long enough to
make two cables, possibly three. Now I have a spare!
