Recently there has been some discussion about electric fans and their
running the battery flat. Service Tech Bulletin 77-A-2 addressed this:
" It has been found beneficial to control the cooling fans through the
ignition switch.
This in effect means that the fans will only operate when the ignition
is in the "on" position but will still be controlled by the Otter
temperature switch situated adjacent to the top radiator hose. in order
to accomplish this modification simply move the white with brown tracer
wire, where it is connected to the bottom Lucar terminal of the fuse
block ( a piggyback connector) and connect it one connection up or to the
number 5 connector on the fuse block. This will effectively eliminate the
fans running unnecessarily then the vehicle is not in use.
Please note that this configuration is in accordance with the wiring
diagram; refer to Item #19-fuse block Service Bulletin #77-B-1."
