For a while it was login/password protected...now it seems quite dead.

You couldn't be more correct, one of the UK's largest provides even admits
its their demonic roots... Demon Internet, www.demon.co.uk (now
www.demon.net)
However as a person that uses the over hyped US version of the internet, I
can honestly say the British have THE BEST Internet Magazine on the
market...Internet Magazine, I love it...even if I do have to pay close to
$10 an issue everytime I want to buy it. American 'Net magazines suck.
