I went to change the oil (for the first time) in my 79 B today, and the
filter that I bought was the wrong one. Two different parts books
recommended this filter which was significantly larger that the one in
the engine now. What gives? Do I have a different engine that the one
that came with the car? The number plate is missing from the engine.

Background:
1: Engine has 1800 stamped on the block on the left side.
2: Has five holes in the head (three exhaust, two intake)
3: Has a single Webber carb and an after market intake manifold.
4: Oil filter screws onto the top of a bracket. The bracket has a
hose that goes to the oil cooler.
