Good point but they just had new needles and jets a couple of hundred
miles back

It is that sort of sound - but ive had that too and its far more
predictable as to when it will occur - this noise id definitely to the
side, the clunking driveshaft was central
PLUS
the car just had a rebuilt rear end  and ujs in september (about 3000
miles back)

You win eternal gratitude - and a ticket to watch me bludgeon the bloody
mechanic to death if number 2 is correct!!!!
