I have a feeling that there are two answers here - one for Europe and
one for the U.S. - Many models mentioned were discontinued in the U.S.
and still sold in Europe.

The Land Rover seems to be the latest with the starting handle in the
U.S., but they stopped selling them here in 1974 (safety/emissions
regulations).  Did they continue in Europe, still with the handle?
On the other hand, is the Land Rover actually considered a car?  Or is
it a truck?  This is getting too complex for my aging brain cells.
