The Missouri Endurance Challenge was held last weekend (3/21-22). First leg
(Saturday) ran southwest out of St.Louis almost to the Arkansas border on some
REALLY GREAT roads. Second leg (Sunday) headed southeast through southern
Illinois (whose roads were not quite as much fun).

West leg was won by the team of Shelley/Bridges with a mileage of 466.0. In
second place were the Scanlan brothers with a mileage of 467.6. Placing third
was Team Fokowie (Ingram/Verhey) with odometer reading of 471.0.

East leg was won by Peterson/Cook posting a mileage of 280.9. In second place
was Team Fokowie with mileage totaling 282.0. Third place found the team of
Shelley/Bridges with the odo showing 291.1.

Overall winner was Team Fokowie with total mileage of 753.0 for the
Run....besting the second place team of Peterson/Cook by 0.3 miles! In third
place was Shelley/Bridges showing a total milage of 757.1.

Shelley/Bridges also received the "Perceverence Award", having to hitch hike
to Jonesboro, Arkansas late Saturday evening to obtain a replacement dizzy
from Don Bridger.

Team Fokowie received the "Spirit of the Run" award (which they humbly share
with the team of Hedrick/Tonry). These two teams stopped to help the team of
Key/Key, whose MGTD had lost a water jacket and was dead on the road. The TD
was towed by the 1974 MGB/GT of Team Fokowie and followed by the Midget of
Hedrick/Tonry some 20 miles (through the "hills" of southern Missouri) to a
safe haven (motel with a vacancy).

Cheers to all participants and to Rallye Master Rob Weatherall (aka "Sir
Lostalot").

Next Enduro in the Midwest is the "Lap of the Lake" at UML Summer party in
August...to be followed by the "Abindgon Trials" in October from Abingdon, IL

Cheers!
