        Sorry to have to tell you but the fiberglass parts are much harder to
"do" than steel.  Take a look at a new Corvette and sight down the
fender or bonnet.  Those ripples are there and there is nothing you can
do about it.  That's where the term "friendly car" came from;it's a car
that waves at you.
        Fiberglass works best where there is little or no vibration.  You are
right about the cracks--they'll likely come back.
