Whoa whoa whoa!! -  $1295?? - i dont know midgets very well but you can
get a used B transmission for about $100 and rebuilding costs -even for a
pro mechanic are not huge - ask around, check your local MG club and
"bargain news" etc-  you can do better than that!!
