        I think you are refering to the metal donut gasket. It is a pain
to get at but not difficult to fix from under the car. Put plenty of PB
Blaster on the studs and heat them with a torch if necessary. Go slow..
afew turns off then bach a few turns. You don't want to snap a stud. As
far as the brakes make sure they are adjusted.
