In working on my car, I have found that it takes about 0.5 US quart to move
the oil level from min to max.  The first time I tried to add oil, I added
a quart and had quite a mess as the oil appears to get pushed out of the
engine if it is overfilled.  I have a big black spot on the floor thanks to
that.  And that is not due to normal leaks as the engine appears to not
have any leaks if it is filled at the proper level
