Yes, the USA spec engines had different heads, the MGB sold on the
European market used the 1800 Landcrab & later Marina head. Those for
the states had terrible things like air pumps, etc. My HAYNES manual has
a mass of detail over the various Clean Air Act modification the export
MGB had to keep up with. I suspect you have an early head fitted, after
all its an easy swap!!
