Hi List,

    We recently had a brief thread about Hall-effect. Standard disclaimer - I'm
not an expert in the field. We OF's in engineering don't really know an awful
lot, but we know where to look. Allegro Microsystems is a major player in the
field. If interested, you might want to look at their website
<http://www.allegromicro.com/control/techpub1.htm>.

     One of the major tech journals, EDN (Engineering Design News), had a good
spread on Hall-effect devices in their 4/9/98 issue. You can read it at their
website, which is:
<http://www.ednmag.com/reg/1998/040998/08df_01.cfm>

   Neither of these will answer all of your questions, but they beat the
standard answer given when asked "How do Hall-effect devices work?" Answer
"Pretty well."
