if possible.. from the engine compartment push the
center of the cable back up through the dash, when
replacing same, just slip the new cable down
through the original casing ( a little WD 40 on
the cable is a good idea here also)

+AD4-Peter,
+AD4-
+AD4-I too have replaced this piece. I was able to do
it by removing the
+AD4-airvents in the center of the facia. There is a
nut that holds the choke
+AD4-handle assembly in the hole. This will have to
be removed, and the wire
+AD4-connecting to the carburator linkage removed.
Then the while thing will
+AD4-slide out. (one piece construction). Installation
is the reverse, it helps
+AD4-to have small hands (I don't). Good luck

+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- Does anyone know the easiest way to replace the
choke pull +ACY- twist
+AD4APg- handle on a 74 CBB? Today I snapped it off,
behind the fascia, the metal
+AD4APg- looked pretty tired and scaffed on the side.
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- The procedure in the workplace manual to take
off the whole fascia looks
+AD4APg- gruesome, 14 steps with a couple of hundred
items to loosen. I was
+AD4APg- wondering if I could reach it by first removing
the glovebox and then
+AD4APg- the upright airvents. What would I find once I
got in?
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- Thanks in advance,
