I may not know jack about this, but I would suspect that, given the
condition of Chris Rogers'  B, the best course would be to jack from the
front crossmember and support the A-arms, and from the back under the
center of the axle, supported by axle stands. This is what supports the car
anyway.  If the car is sagging and needs to be straightened out for
welding, I would imagine that carefully jacking the center at the tunnel,
with a suitable piece of lumber to spread the load, might work.  The key is
always to properly support or brace things, and not remove too much rotten
metal at once, or you  will  REALLY get an alignment problem.
