Paul:

Midel is not the main supplier of carbs to Moss Motors. If Bill
is representing himself as such he is incorrect. I also doubt if he is
the main supplier to Joe Curto either, although I have no proof of that.
Burlen Fuel Systems of England is in partnership with SU
Automotive to manufacture and distribute classic fuel supply components.
They are responsible for all of the new carbs and components sporting
the familiar SU blue livery. They are the primary supplier of carbs and
components to Moss Motors.
Burlen Fuel Systems is the company that managed to salvage
tooling in the early 80s' to keep our cars on the road. As such they
deserve a mention at this time.

As for price gouging, I believe that Moss retails the AUD405
pair for $399.95. This does not include linkage. Sometimes even new
components can have warranty problems, I suggest that it is more
expedient to deal with a domestic vendor.

Midel Pty Ltd. is a vendor to Moss Motors for items which are
not currently available from BFS. Their resourcefulness in supplying
parts is very appreciated.

Kelvin.
Take all comments, knowing their source. I know which
side my bread is buttered etc.

Hey Neil Cotty...
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I called Bill Brassington at Midel
my pair of AUD405 SU carbs are only going to cost
me $335 for the pair! WOW!
now I know Moss is gouging this industry.
In my conversation with Bill I found out that
he is the main parts supplier to Joe Curto in NY
as well as the main supply of carbs to Moss itself!
Moss buys them for well under $300 US a pair and
sells them to us commoners for $600 here in the
states. 7pm EST 11/25/98 was 11am 11/26/98
Australia time. They are 15 hours ahead of the US east coast time
Including linkages, gaskets, S+H and
two carbs is a total of roughly $335 US
I can't even get a good rebuild of a set for that price
Anyone in need of carbs...CALL Bill
