Hi all,

Before I go home to play with my carbies..

I'm intending to pull the motor on the B in the next month or so to do some
mods for Historic racing next year. When the motor goes back in I'd like it
to look as good as it goes (hopefully!). I've done a lot of reading on
painting, powder coating etc and I'm not convinced painting is the way to
go - apart from the ultra hot areas - ie head.

So has anyone out there powder coated their block and other engine
components? If so, what system did you use, did you outsource it to a
specialist company, and what powder and colour did you use? I've had a look
at the HotCoat system supplied by Eastwood and it looks fine and dandy apart
from the minor detail that they can't supply custom colours (so they say,
and they also say they haven't tested this system with other powders). I
want my block and bits and pieces to be the right color, not some leary
non-MG red - but I want the associated anti-chip benefits I can get from
powder coating vs. painting.

Comments?

Neil.
