Hi Kevin,

A relay is a workaround indead. But I don't thinks it is only the contacts.
If you pull a wire from an old MG (or other car/bike) you will see the Copper
Oxide (green stuff) thruogh the small wires (that we call Litze wire).
This will also bring up the resistance, but probably less than the contacts.
