Mike-
        At the risk of offending the drive line combatants, here is my
suggestion.  Yes, you can do it yourself.  It is kind of a pain but once
you do it, it is pretty easy.   Take the whole mess to a place that
specializes in drive line balancing.  Watch how they do the U-joints so
you will know next time (spline alignment, etc.) and get the whole mess
balanced.  You can save yourself countless hours chasing road vibrations
with this approach.  Most reputable drive line places use quality
u-joints and not those made in Carjackistan.  If you don't recognize the
name, you probably don't want it.
