Midget 5 speed?

 I own a 71 Midget.  Two items I am looking for some input on:

1       Does anyone have experience with the Rivergate gearbox conversion =
using a Datsun 5 speed in a Midget?  I saw an article in British Car and =
it sounds like the car would be a lot more drivable, especially on =
Interstates.

2       The car has an original BMC AM radio, unfortunuately w/o knobs.  Any =
ideas on where I could get some?  Most everyone wants to sell them with =
the radio.
