I posted a question earlier to this group concerning the SU AUF204 fuel pump
I found on my car. It turns out this is a Midget fuel pump (thanks for all
the responses) and is probably unable to provide enough fuel under "spirited
driving condition".
I know have a few more questions:
- If I decide not to use a proper SU what do I have to be concerned about
when using a generic replacement pump? Does too high a pumping pressure
affect the carburetors?
- Why was the fuel pump put under the car rather than in the engine
compartment? Could it be repositioned to the engine compartment? I'm
guessing that the answer here is that you would be concerned about vapour
looking of the pump but is there any other reason?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Gotta love the list!
