Rockers, rockers? Oh those things that lesser members of the MG tribe use to
actuate their valves - got it now.
But really, I know of no one that does this, and generally when we build a
pushrod engine for racing, we do our own deburring, lightening and polishing.
Very carefully. The gains to be had are more the satisfaction of doing a
complete job than being able to rev 217 rpm higher before valve bounce. If you
are not doing an all out race car, by all means play with them if you know
what you are doing, but if you don't, and it really doesn't matter to your use
of the car, leave them alone, except for rebushing them, and having the tips
professionally reprofiled. You may also want to install new adjusting screws
and nuts.
