An additional comment on this thread.  When I first got my 66 'B, and drove
it in heavy rain for long periods of time, it would take up to 4-5 seconds
for the brakes to begin to "grab" and slow the car down (did that ever
catch me by suprise the first time it happened).  I promptly rebuilt the
front brakes after inspecting them and seeing the pistons were corroded
and not working well.  Now I have braking power immediately in the wet.
I have stock rotors and plain brake pads.  Since I have made no changes to
the rear brakes, I would agree with those that say the problem is in the
front brakes.

The next pair of brake pads I get will be grooved though, I think.
