How deep are the pits. 3m has a great burnishing tool, Scotchbrite discs. I 
have used them to burnish out scratches & nicks on AL. They come in 3 grades 
of coarseness.
After burnishing them out, prep the panel for paint (primer) and see how they 
look. A good hi-fill primer should build up small depressions when you board 
the panel. I use PPG NCT. As you sand the hi fill, use a "Guide Coat" to help 
pick up your low spots. Good Luck and take your time.
