Listers;
Stripping of the 77 continues in earnest. Not that I am in a big hurry.
I am enjoying working & learning about my car as much as I enjoy driving
it. Thanks to those who answered some of my earlier questions. The
headlight pots are now sitting on my bench, lots of Dura Lube and a
twist with some vice grips and a way we go. As for door windows, I am
now going to remove those.
New questions to date:
1. How do I remove the paint that is adhered to my tub
surround?(moulding-rear cockpit) I removed it but from what I can tell
it's the first time it's been off and the car has been painted at least
twice since new.
2. Latest stripped screw holds one of the hood catches just in front of
the trunk. How does one tackle this? From my new found experience I
would guess penetrant & needle nose vice grips maybe? or (whisper)
drill?

A couple of other points referring to recent threads:
1. To remove the windscreen bolts with dash in place I had to reach for
my trusty Made in China cheap wrenches. My Craftsman Professional Series
pride and joys were to thick!!!! See everything has a purpose in
life!!!! :-)

2. My car had a MACCO paintjob when the color was changed from
Chartreuse to Damask Red!!! One would think this would require extra
care stripping right? Wrong. Even under the sill plates is still yellow.
Would have been easier to remove them than paint them tape them up!!!!

Again my thanks go out to the LIST for the information and confidence it
has provided me with this project. Without the list I'd still be
tackling it but not with the same vigor or enthusiasm. Workshop, Haynes,
Porter, & Chilton don't have that same effect on me. If this list was
round 10 years ago maybe I'd be still driving that 67 parts car I
have!!!

Best Wishes & Safety Fast
