Hi there listers,
I have been lurking on this list off and on for a while now trying to
decide what to do with my 72B. I am located just outside of Atlanta, GA
and can't decide what to do with my car.
It was my daily driver for 6 years until I parked in my parent's garage in
late '91. It's sitting on jack stands next to my brothers 76B that has
been there for just as long. I now have my own house with a garage and my
parents want their garage space back. I am trying to decide whether or not
it's worth it to bring it to my home and try to get it running after all
these years or would I be better off selling it as a parts car. It was
running fine until it was parked. I got another car and couldn't afford to
run both, so the B was parked.
Exterior - Rust, yes, but not that bad (I'm not looking for great quality,
just some weekend fun). It also could use a paint job.
Interior - seats torn, door panels shot, dash cracked. My brother put his
76B into a ditch so the body is pretty banged up but the interior is near
perfect. Is it possible to swap out the seats, door panels and the like
from his to mine and what would their value be if I was to buy them from him?
I would like to bring it to it's new home, but I'm not sure if it's really
worth it. I realize that it would be a challenge to get it running again,
but is it really worth it? My wife will only allow me to bring one of the
cars home, so I need to buy anything that would be useable from the 76 for
the 72 before the 76 goes.
In dollar value what would either car be worth as a parts car? The 72 has
an overdrive transmission that was working fine as well and rostyle wheels.
The 76 does not have overdrive, but it has wire wheels.
Can someone please talk me into or out of this project.
