Gary,
Piece of cake to remove the dash.  Start by removing the seats.  It
helps if you can lie on your back in the footwells.  Make sure you have
plenty of light.  Remove the speedo and tach and the ignition warning
and high beam lights.  Disconnect the choke at the carbs.  Now you can
get at ALL of the 7/16" nuts with a deep socket, a swivel, and various
extensions on your ratchet.  When it is free, pull it away slightly and
disconnect the remaining electrical stuff.  You can make notes as to
wire locations if you are afraid that your schematic reading skills
aren't up to snuff.
