I don't have a hard top, but I had a friend who had one for his 1956
Corvette. He rigged up a pully affair with four ropes that hooked under the
top, into the ceiling of his garage, so he could lift the hardtop off the
'Vette by himself. Replacing it was also easy. YMMV.
