One-piece plastic (or more correctly, nylon) floats became standard at some
point.  There is still a float height measurement specified for them in the
manuals - .125 to .188 or 1./8" to 3/16", and it says to "carefully reset
the angle made between the straight portion of the float lever and the hinge
until the correct position is obtained".
