Hmmm, I don't know about your pump, either, but something else struck me
in your message. Since you have newly converted to SUs, you may not be
aware that there should be a fuel drain line connected to each float bowl
outlet. This would consist of a short piece of rubber hose and then a
long, elaborately bent piece of metal fuel line running around the
manifolds and through a clip near the left front motor mount, exiting
beneath the frame. The highly laudable purpose of this seemingly
primitive contrivance is to prevent fuel from dripping onto the hot
exhaust manifold and head pipe.
I would assume your B had some kind of fuel recirculation line as part of
the emissions control system, but my guess is that it is not hooked up to
the SUs. I am not sure whether you would feel it necessary to have such a
system in place, or if you would be comfortable with the earlier,
environmentally incorrect sytem described above, but I am sure that
"naked" float bowl outlets are a recipe for disaster.
