David,

Looks to me as if it's irrelevant whether the transmission is an
overdrive unit or not when it comes to the part in question.  I would
guess that you should be able to find a servicable unit from a non-OD
gearbox.  

Gearbox experts out there - is this part subject to lots of wear and
tear?
