They were given them for nothing, with all debts written off by BMW, which
has just sold Land Rover (and Gaydon Research) to Ford to cover the debt.

BMW walk away with a clean sheet plus new Mini.
Ford get a strong, world-wide product.
Alchemy get the chance to re-incarnate MG as a specialist, low-volume
sporting car maker.

The losers?  The people of Longbridge.  There was an image on local TV last
night of a shop/store at Longbridge called 'CARGO'.  Someone had painted the
letters 'NE' after the name - shows spirit.
