The assembly of such a list would not be a task I would relish thanks,
Bob. If you were looking for my blessing to undertake such an effort
yourself, you have it.

My interest stems from a belief, albeit perhaps an erroneous one, that
there was a "local effect" surrounding former dealer sites which could
positively influence (at least at the margins) ability (or likelihood)
today to find MG's for sale in a particular area.

This would be far less important in the major cities and/or metro areas.
But then I do not live in such an area. Because I was not living where
I do today when MG's were still being sold new, I do not know where the
dealers hereabouts (if any existed) used to be.

Hence my original inquiry.

Bruce,
If no such list exists, would you consider assembling one? Everyone on
this list probably knows of a (former) dealer or two, and could send
information to you.
My father bought my TD from Trans-Sport Sales & Service, Inc, 1010 N.
Boulevard, Richmond 20, VA. Telephone 5-1775. "Fine imported and
Domestic Autombiles (they misspelled it) and Motorcycles, Aircraft and
Yacht Brokers" Its heater was installed later, invoice #3770, Install
heater, adjust valves, $49.95, additional parts $1.70, less 15 %
discount, $36.65.
Bob
