I would suggest a comptete system flush plus take a hose with a medium 
pressure nozzel and wash the radiator fins.  Do noot use a pressure washer as 
that would damage the cooling fins.  Also remove the thermostat and heat it 
in a pot of water with a thermometer along side.  You can watch at what temp 
it opens and determine if it is the culprit.  It might be worth changing 
anyhow if it's really old you might replace it but do the test to learn of 
the operation of the current one for diagnostic purposes.
