Well the current story about my 70 BGT is quite interesting..
I took the engine out (with the help of a friend) to discover that the
third cylnder had a huge gouge in the wall. That cylnder also had a unique
piston (with a extra long sleeve) in it. It appears the circlip poped off,
flew against the wall, broke and was dragged all the way down the wall by
the clynder. We found now traces of metal in the oil pan so it must have
been pretty well destroyed. I took the engine to a machine shop who said
they could go to .060 and the gouge would disappear. I didn't know if I
could find pistons that much over they said they could. After weeks of
impatient waiting on the extremely back-logged shop I got the engine back.
MG Automotive picked up the engine to put it back together (taking the
engine apart is easy, but I wanted it to be put back together
professionally). They replaced the oil pump, timing chain, tensioner,
timing gears, put a nice aluminum fully populated head on, painted
everything. I litterally was speechles when I saw the engine completely
re-assemnbled and ready for the car. Steve at MG Automotive does
absolutely astonishing work. I towed the car over to him to let him
replace the engine and transmission. He's also going to be redoing the
front right and rear suspension.

Soon, after the hassles of getting an inspection and halding the salvage
title stuff I will have an almost new MGB! I have a conference I'm going
to be attending in Pittsburgh in late June, my wish is to drive it there
and back (I live in Cicninnati, Ohio).

HIGHLY Recommended. Steve is extremely knowledgable and kind. I have been
amazed and delighted with everything I've seen him do. He may seem rough
at times if you do something stupid (like remove the transmission when it
wasnt needed).
