Don't do it! My kit has a very heavy (1/2" thick) bracket that bolts
through BOTH rear mount holes. I would not trust the structure of the
frame to take all the force through a single bolt, since the diameter is
limited to that of the existing hole and the shock eye. The bolt would
also need a spacer or shoulder to keep the shock body away from the frame
-- if this was a separate piece like a stack of washers or a sleeve it
would not effectively transfer lateral loads to the frame. I personally
would be afraid a 3/8" grade 8 bolt would bend like a noodle in this
application.
