That is the theory behind it, or so I have heard. But rest assured, it does 
not flow any easier when cold. At ten below, it barely moves. A lesson I 
learned once when I was in college and I stored my oil in the trunk. I had 
to warm the container up before I could even begin to add it to the low 
level of oil in the engine.

(I use 10w40 now during the winter months for what little difference it may 
make. But I also have a heated garage now ).
