Bob-
I agree with everything you said. The ideal cover would be a waterproof 
nylon shell, a layer of Gore-Tex, and a flannel liner -- and would 
probably cost $500. But since Edwin is moving to Texas, I would guess sun 
is his major issue. Covers don't offer much protection against hail or 
tornadoes.
