Just a quick note to thank the *many* list participants who provided
encouragement and assistance as I contemplated my 1st MGB purchase.
Apart from the thrill of owning my first LBC, I was as impressed by the
quality of conversation provided on this list. Already, I feel a sense
of "community"...which makes my pending involvement even that much more
exciting.

OK...since you asked...; ^ )...

It's a 1978 MGB...*just* repainted the original Brooklands Green...and
getting a new Moss Autumn Leaf interior as we speak. We pick up the car
this Saturday (the dealer is about an hour North of us in San Luis
Obispo). Gotta be honest here...I'm a little nervous contemplating
driving the *beast* even an hour on the Freeway. Definitely "slow-lane"
stuff here. So....here's the first of, and I promise, no less than a
hundred questions...since the car does not have overdrive, any
recommendation on RPM limits?

And the worst part of it is...my office is 5 minutes from Moss Motors
home office...I was over there this Noon buying floormats, MGB license
plate brackets and a new shift knob (wanted one with the shift pattern
on it, but Moss says no such animal). This could get *very*
habit-forming and even more expensive (and I promised myself I wasn't
going to put a penny more in this car that I was assured of getting back
out...already starting to vacillate on this commitment...seesh!)

Sorry to bore y'all with what I'm sure must be the typical "New Owners
Syndrome"....but I'll promise to refrain from such dribble in the
future.

Thanks again,

Steve in Santa Barbara
